How can you join the Move4Nature?

You can join the Move4Nature movement too by going for hike and clean up the trail, or by organising a Move4Nature event.

1. Go for a hike & clean up the trail

  • Gather your friends or head out solo.
  • Plan your hike, bring a bag, and collect any litter you find along the trail.
  • Track your kilometres (with a phone, sports watch or a map) and estimate the kilograms of waste you’ve picked up.
  • Submit your results to the Move4Nature Calculator.

2. Organise a Move4Nature event

  • Gather your friends, club members, your community.
  • Plan your hike based on the participants' knowledge and experiences. Keep it safe.
  • Bring a bag for each participant, and collect any litter you find along the trail.
  • Track the kilometres (with a phone, sports watch or a map) and estimate the kilograms of waste you’ve picked up.

Frequently asked Move4Nature questions

How to measure kilometers?

The most simple way is to use your phone and measure with the app “Step distance”. You can also measure the distance with other apps, for example Strava. 

Other ways include using a sports watch or any other device. Or you can do it the”old-school way” by using a map, for example Gaia, marked the trail on the computer and measure the distance. 

How to measure the kilograms of litter?

One litter of liquid weights one kilogram. Add the weight of your water bottle, and compared the weight to the litter you have picked.
