With a support of students, AJSPT Suceava in Forest Cleanup for World Cleanup Day

On World Cleanup Day, Move4Nature partner AJSPT Suceava organised a special event combining outdoor activity with environmental action in the forests of Baisa, Botoșani County, Romania.

The initiative brought together over 50 enthusiastic students from the National College “Mihai Eminescu” Botoșani, mobilised by their teacher, Mr. Ionuț Anisie, who has a long-standing commitment to environmental activities. This is not his first time participating in such events; he frequently organizes and takes part in activities that restore forest trails and markings, often combining maintenance work with cleaning efforts. These initiatives are a constant part of his work with students, helping them develop a sense of responsibility and connection to nature.

Together with the organisers, they repainted bike route markings and cleaned the forest trails, contributing both to sustainable tourism and the preservation of local biodiversity.

The participants’ collective efforts added up to 476 kilometers hiked and cycled, and more importantly, 40 kilograms of waste removed from the forest.

This activity proved once again that every small gesture contributes to a cleaner and greener future. Through teamwork and commitment, the students and volunteers showcased the power of community action in protecting nature.

A highlight of the summer school was the mountain expedition organized under the Move4Nature project. Students had the chance to immerse themselves in the beautiful natural landscape surrounding Gura Humorului. They learned to identify local flora, navigate hiking trails using marked signs, pace themselves during the climb and descent, support their peers, equip themselves appropriately for mountain activities, and—most importantly—respect and preserve the natural environment by leaving no trace behind.

These enriching experiences were made possible thanks to the guidance and dedication of the school’s teaching staff, who also served as trainers and mentors throughout the week.

A heartfelt thank you goes to our colleague Cristina Mihalea for her energy, enthusiasm, and unwavering dedication to the program.

The activity was carried out with the support of the Suceava County Association for Sport for All and the Move4Nature Project.
