Forty-five enthusiastic students and teachers from Primary School Bled recently contributed to the Move4Nature project by taking part in a scenic hike along the Napoleon Trail above Trieste, Italy.
While the original plan was to summit Grossglockner in Austria, poor weather conditions led the group to choose a sunnier coastal route instead. The change in plans didn’t dampen their spirits—in fact, the hike was filled with sunshine, laughter, and even a well-deserved ice cream treat to finish the day.
The Napoleon Trail offered an easy and pleasant walk with stunning panoramic views of the Gulf of Trieste, Grado, and the Soča River estuary. Along the way, the group visited the peaceful Monte Grisa Sanctuary, explored the historic Miramare Castle, and enjoyed a leisurely stroll through a beautiful botanical garden.
This trip was part of the school’s unique mountaineering class, which includes over 100 students. Led by dedicated mentors, the program teaches young people about the outdoors, the importance of respecting nature, and living an active, healthy lifestyle. Hiking is promoted as a fun and natural way to stay fit, while also connecting with the environment.
With every step, Primary School Bled continues to inspire a generation of young nature lovers and environmental stewards one trail at a time.
