Primary School Bled Students Embrace Healthy Living with Mountain Adventures

As the school year came to a close, students from Primary School Bled in Slovenia celebrated in a truly inspiring way—by embracing nature and promoting an active lifestyle through a series of hikes in the beautiful Karawanks mountain range.

Part of the school’s mountaineering class, the final adventure of the year aimed to encourage healthy habits, physical activity, and environmental awareness. Over three days, students and teachers explored the alpine wilderness, enjoying fresh air, panoramic views, and the rewarding challenge of hiking.

From Friday to Sunday, the young hikers covered over 700 kilometers in total (counting all participants), while also making a positive impact on nature by collecting 2 kilograms of litter along the way.

The Hiking Highlights:

  • Friday: 24 participants hiked 9 km each, climbing 1,200 meters in altitude.
  • Saturday: 9 determined hikers took on a longer route—22 km each with a climb of 1,900 meters.
  • Sunday Sunrise Hike: 22 participants welcomed the day with a 5 km hike and 500 meters of elevation.
  • Sunday Afternoon Hike: 23 participants finished the weekend with 8 km each and 1,500 meters of climbing.

This final activity not only celebrated a successful year of mountaineering education but also reinforced the importance of a healthy, active lifestyle and caring for the environment. The students of Primary School Bled showed that even the youngest can lead by example when it comes to respecting nature and staying active.
