Students from Suceava Join the Move4Nature Initiative with a Hike to Rarău Peak

As part of the European Move4Nature initiative, an inspiring environmental-sport event took place on June 5 in Romania, engaging 60 participants—including 55 enthusiastic elementary school students and 5 teachers from the Suceava Sports High School. The event combined physical activity in nature with environmental awareness and hands-on action.

The group hiked a scenic 6-kilometre route up to the base of Pietrelor Doamnei and reached the Rarău Peak at an altitude of 1651 metres. The experience continued with a peaceful walk along the shores of Lake Iezer in Sadova, where students explored the natural surroundings and enjoyed the fresh mountain air. Although only 4 kilograms of waste were collected, primarily from their own group and the trail, it was a positive indication that the tourist season has only just begun and the area remains relatively clean.

The event successfully embodied the core values of Move4Nature: encouraging youth to be physically active in natural settings, raising awareness about environmental responsibility, and promoting the importance of preserving our landscapes for future generations.
